FAQ

The hair extensions are made from 100% human hair of the highest quality. It is sourced from Indian temples in virgin condition – meaning that the hair has never been treated, bleached or coloured. Great Lengths uses only “Remy Hair” which means the hair is collected with the cuticle layer facing the same direction from the root to the tip just as they do in your natural hair. This collection process is a critical part of making sure the hair doesn’t tangle when made into extensions.

Rest assured ‘Great Lengths’ is ethically sourced. The hair is sourced directly from temples in India at hair auctions. The temples receive the hair through donations by temple faithful’s and the hair is then bought by Great Lengths to provide high quality hair extensions. All proceeds from the transactions are reinvested into the local community to provide funding for schools, hospitals and orphanages in the Indian society.

Great Lengths has been one step ahead from the start. So far no other system has developed a similarly non-compromising technique of attaching additional strands to the customer’s own hair. It goes without saying that only 100% natural human hair of the highest quality is used. Top hairdressers today all over the world including Great Britain, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, New Zealand and many more are using Great Lengths. There are so many different types of hair extensions today. Just to name a few, some are applied with a metal ring, some with a plastic bead, a glue bond, some are weaved in and some are even applied using a strip of double sided sticky tape.

So why choose Great Lengths over other hair extensions?

For starters, all the extensions I mentioned above cannot be brushed over because they will slide out. Great Lengths hair extensions don’t move once they have been applied and you have to brush over them daily to avoid matting. So because you cannot brush over these other types of extensions, the hair becomes quite matted and clumpy; you also have an ongoing cost because every 3-6 weeks, you need to go back in to the hair salon and have them tightened or pushed back up close to your roots. This becomes quite costly and time-consuming to manage.

With Great Lengths you can tie your hair up – no one will see the bonds if done correctly. You can style your hair like you normally would with a blow dryer and brush, as well as straightening and curling irons, colour over them with semi’s etc. If you don’t feel like styling your hair you can easily wash and wear with its natural wave that it has. So overall you have less ongoing maintenance with Great Lengths hair extensions because once they are applied, they then grow out with your hair until they need to be removed, which is anywhere between 4-6 months. It is recommended to visit your stylist once a month for a check up and do not hesitate to call for any inquiries you may have.
